Principle: The working principle of the GDSLAIM split type ultrasonic level gauge is that high-frequency ultrasonic pulses are emitted by the transducer (probe) and reflected back from the surface of the measured medium. Some of the reflected echoes are received by the same transducer and converted into electrical signals. Ultrasonic pulses propagate at the speed of sound waves, and the time interval required from emission to reception of ultrasonic pulses is proportional to the distance from the transducer to the surface of the measured medium. The relationship between the distance value S, the sound velocity C, and the transmission time T can be expressed by the formula: S=CxT/2. Due to the certain width of the emitted ultrasonic pulses, the reflected waves in a small area close to the transducer overlap with the emitted waves, making it difficult to identify and measure their distance values. This area is called the measurement blind spot. The size of the blind spot is related to the model of the ultrasonic level gauge.

Therefore, installation should avoid facilities inside the tank as much as possible, such as ladders, limit switches, heating equipment, brackets, etc. In this case, "false echo learning" must be performed during installation. Additionally, it should be noted that the ultrasonic beam must not intersect with the feeding material flow.
