Scope and Application
The QBZ-J series mining explosion-proof self coupling vacuum electromagnetic starter is suitable for use in coal mines or industrial and mining enterprises with explosive gas mixtures (methane) and coal dust. It is used in power systems with AC 50Hz and voltage up to 660V as a local or remote control for infrequent starting or stopping of mining explosion-proof three-phase squirrel cage asynchronous motors. It can also switch phases when the controlled motor is powered off, and has overload, short circuit, phase failure, leakage lockout, and voltage loss protection for the motor and related circuits. This series of starters is particularly suitable for light load coal mining machinery equipment that requires infrequent operation, as well as for industrial and mining enterprises with similar explosive gas mixtures.

Structural Overview
1. The starter consists of an explosion-proof shell and an autotransformer, vacuum contactor, AC contactor, motor comprehensive protector, digital time relay, intermediate relay, isolation switch, control transformer, etc. installed inside the shell.
2. The explosion-proof shell of the starter is cylindrical, with a protruding bottom and cover, and the cover and body adopt a rotating cover sealing structure. There is a junction box on the upper part of the shell for introducing and extracting cables. The introduction device is used to tighten the nut or flange to make the rubber sealing ring tighten the cable to meet the explosion-proof requirements. There is a reliable mechanical interlocking device between the starter housing cover and the isolation reversing switch handle, which ensures that the cover cannot be opened when the isolation reversing switch is closed; The lid can only be opened when the stop button is pressed and the handle is turned to the stop position, and the locking rod is retracted below the plane of the shell flange. The front components of the body are not electrified. After the lid is opened, the isolation switch cannot be closed.
3. The starter adopts autotransformer technology, which extracts one or several taps from the autotransformer to reduce the terminal voltage during asynchronous motor starting, avoid high starting torque and peak starting current, and protect the working equipment from excessive torque during the motor starting process, reducing the mechanical stress of the conveyed object and minimizing the wear of the working equipment and transmission device.
