The CCM-4 magnetometer is a flux gate magnetometer used to measure the vertical component of the geomagnetic field. Mainly used for searching for magnetite, geological surveys, and also for searching for underground iron pipelines, especially for detecting cast iron pipelines with poor electrical connectivity that cannot be detected by general electromagnetic pipeline detectors and cement pipelines containing steel bars.
