FL16 flow recorder is applicable to flow data collection of inflow and infiltration studies, rainstorm water and wastewater collection systems, open channels and other gravity flow systems. The FL16 water flow recorder can record over 81000 readings of depth, temperature, water flow rate, and velocity in sewers and drainage pipes, as well as other open channel applications such as sinks, weirs, and rectangular ditches. Specially designed, pollution-free water level sensors can operate at depths of only 1/2 inch and can be installed in manholes and other difficult to access areas without the need to enter confined spaces.
The ventilation flow sensors of FL16 water flow recorder are all encapsulated with ship grade epoxy. The electronic components of the water flow sensor are encapsulated, so moisture will never leak through the O-ring seal or slowly seep into the ventilation pipe, causing drift or sensor failure. The ventilation tube is directly sealed to the moisture sensing element, and any moisture that may enter the ventilation tube from the housing of the water flow recorder can only come into contact with the ceramic components, not the electronic components.
The software of FL16 water flow recorder is specially designed for calculating water flow, using Manning's formula to calculate non full sewage and drainage pipes, and selecting and entering necessary information through the drop-down menu. The FL16 water flow recorder software has a unique calibration function that allows users to view the calculated water flow velocity, compare it with actual measured data, adjust water flow parameters, and calibrate for specific application water flow conditions. FL16 provides over 40 standard water flow formulas for tanks and weirs, as well as user-defined custom checklists that can convert water levels into flow rates for any practical application. After setting, all settings and water flow parameters are stored in the memory of the water flow recorder and automatically uploaded to the software upon connection. This information can also be saved to a file for future use. When the water flow recorder is deployed in multiple locations, there is no need to re-enter the water flow parameters each time it is moved. The FL16 flow recorder operates with two standard 9V batteries, which are mutually backup and will never experience a power outage. There is also a lithium battery fixedly installed on the circuit board to ensure data security in case of failure before replacing the 9V battery. Optional protective casing is available for installing flow recorders on ladders or other structural components in manholes, and facilitates on-site installation and replacement.

Bluetooth function
The AK1500 Bluetooth adapter eliminates the need for traditional PDA cables for communication between PDA and FL16 traffic recorders. The Bluetooth adapter is connected to the serial port of the FL16 water flow recorder using the same interface cable provided with the software package. The interface works with a 9V battery and automatically starts when the cable connects the FL16 water flow recorder to the Bluetooth adapter. Due to the power consumption of the Bluetooth module during interface startup, it is recommended to unplug the cable from the FL16 water flow recorder when not in use. When the Bluetooth adapter is inserted into the FL16 water level recorder, a red LED stays on to display the power status. There is also a blue LED displaying the Bluetooth connection status.

FL16 water flow recorder includes water flow software. Windows based software provides many useful features, such as real-time readings, measurement intervals and engineering unit selection, site ID settings, and sensor calibration. Software makes it easy to access stored data and set options. The data downloaded from FL16 water flow recorder can be easily opened with any PC data spreadsheet program for analysis and graphical display. The FL16 water flow recorder software can run on Windows 98 or later versions of PC. To communicate with the FL16 water flow recorder, the computer must be equipped with a communication port suitable for the type of FL16 water flow recorder purchased, either a standard RS232 serial port or a USB communication port. The purchase of FL16 water flow recorder includes an RS232 or USB cable (for communication between the recorder and the computer).
